Massa d’Or – Sa freu
The diving depth between the western side of the island and the pinnacle is 9 m, depending on the state of the sea and the winds.
This diving point is one of the most splendid and offers the most abundant underwater life in the area. On the western side of the island, it is common to observe bream, sea bream, grouper and usually shoals of barracuda or bonito tuna.
The best time to visit are the months of August and September, as being unprotected from the coast, it receives all types of winds and currents (especially eastern and Tramuntana) which make diving difficult. It is one of the most exceptional spots for diving on the entire Costa Brava, but unfortunately diving is not always possible, and must always be verified by our instructors.
Maximum depth 60m.
